Zero Motorcycles - ATLAS Throttle Lock
The goal of the Zero is to eliminate anything that takes away from the ride itself. No motor noise allows the rider to enjoy their surroundings more. No exhaust means deep breaths of fresh air, no shifting lends to a smoother riding experience.
But what about you? You're still bound to the throttle, unable to fully relax and give your right hand a break. Enter the ATLAS Throttle Lock. Install the ATLAS in a matter of minutes and reap the benefits of a throttle that holds itself wherever you put it. The ATLAS is the missing component to making the Zero the ultimate riding machine.

Top Kit: You'll want a Top Kit if:
- There is less than 1.5 inches (38 mm) of clearance between the tank and the throttle housing at full right turn.
- There's a heated grip wire that comes out the bottom half of your rubber grip flange.
Bottom Kit: You'll want the Bottom Kit if:
- There's a heated grip wire that comes out the top half of your rubber grip flange.
- There are no other interferences. The majority of motorcycles will be able to use the Bottom Kit.
What's included with the Kit?
Your kit comes with everything you need to mount the ATLAS on many different motorcycles.
- Installation Instructions
- Allen Key (2mm)
- 2 M3 Bolts with thread locker
- 3 sizes of friction pads (2 of each)
- Alcohol Prep Pad
Friction Pads are required.
The ATLAS Throttle Lock was designed to be used with friction pads. Friction pads can last anywhere from 3,000 miles to 40,000+ miles. The wear depends on how often you rotate the throttle while it is engaged and if your throttle housings has sharp edges that rub on the friction pad. If you need replacement friction pads, you can buy more here: Friction Pads.
Which friction pad should you use?
The friction pads come in 3 different thicknesses. Your kit comes with two of each size but you will only need to apply one pad to your ATLAS. Watch our installation video and follow the instructions to determine which friction pad works best. You will want to start with the thickest friction pad and see if it fits between the throttle housing and the ATLAS Stopper Arm. If it doesn't fit, try the next size down until you find the right size that does not make contact with the throttle housing when disengaged.
Where should I place my friction pad?
We recommend adhering the friction pad along the top edge of the Stopper Arm, but, for some motorcycles, this isn't the best solution. If your throttle housing has any bevels on it which will interfere with the friction pad during any part of the rotation, then you will want to adjust the placement of the friction pad to avoid those bevels. Sometimes this means placing the friction pad a few millimeters away from the top edge of the stopper arm, or maybe placing it to the far right or left on the stopper arm.

First off I have to thank Josh Hopkins Rider Support Manager, who after I had the most frustrating 3 weeks dealing with DHL, who not only charged me duty but lost my parcel and basically washed their hands of finding my parcel. So I emailed Josh and after a week of his own investigation sent me out a new Throttle Lock at no charge. I recieved it 3 weeks later (I live in Canada via UPS). So 10/10 for customer service. Now the unit itself. Installs easily, works fantastically. Makes long rides nice again when you can trust the equipment to do what it's designed to do. 10/10 for the Throttle Lock. Keep up the great work and thank you for making this old biker happy.
2004 Honda VTX1300 with Side car,
Works on my night train..
I have been sitting on weather to get one of these for a long time and finally bite the bullet so I went ahead and ordered my kit which I selected the bottom kit because I thought it would be quite bulky but it's not, its actually quite thin and sleek looking!!
Any how the fella who was sorting my order called Josh Hopkins emailed me telling me how the bottom kit would hit the tank when on full lock right and suggested I get the top kit in which I replied,as soon as I got the message and he shipped it as soon as he could.
So customer service in my option was very helpful and saved alot of hassle and the item it self is a no brainer, I had a cheap one which you tighten round the grip and push it against your brake leaver but they are in the way and quite quickly start slipping causing the revs to drop!! NOT with atlas I can finally sit back and let the bike do the riding and save my hand from throttle wrist pain!!
Over the moon, thanks to Josh at atlas!!
A very smart and strong efficient solution for confort' increase. 👍
I've had other devices in the past, but the Atlas Throttle Lock is the best by far. I highly recommend it to anyone that does road trips.
Works great on my wife’s Ryker 900 rally. Relieves her hand cramping. Easy install. Just what the doctor ordered.
Fantastic product. Works great
The product is very good! Delivery could be faster.
I ordered the throttle lock for my 2021 mt09 (with the oem heated grips installed) and unfortunately it wouldn’t fit. The reason I’m still happy to give 5 stars though is because from start to finish, the customer service was awesome (similar to that of revzilla service which is really hard to beat). Big shout out to Josh Hopkins who helped me out through the entire process too!
Gutted it doesn’t fit the bike but I wouldn’t hesitate to order from them again for my next bike.
High Quality, easy install, works great - nice to be able to get right hand relief! I like the fact that it mounts to the inside of the throttle and not on bar ends, as I generally grip far out on the bars. Simple, smooth operation - ush a button and it's on, push a button and it's off - even with my thick winter gloves. I highly recommend this product if you want a method to hold the throttle position.
