Customer Reviews

Aaron, 2010 KTM 990 ADV - No issues with the installation. [The ATLAS] went onto my aftermarket throttle tube and fits even with my KTM heated grips. Build quality is excellent and it functions as it's supposed to. Click the button once to set and click again to release. It is simple and easily within reach. Friction is strong enough to hold the throttle in the desired position but is easily overridden with just a twist of the wrist.

Joshua, 2003 KTM 640 Adventure - Without a doubt, ATLAS is the best solution out there for a motorcycle throttle lock. The ease of install is perfect. The function is perfect, even on a paint shaker of a bike like the 640 Adventure! Control is as simplle as button on, button off. No added frills and quality, corrosion free parts. Best of all, the price point means it makes more sense than any other throttle lock solution out there. Couldn't be happier!

Andrew C., 2014 KTM 690 Enduro R - Don't look any further then the ATLAS Throttle Lock. The price was a little steep, but after using it for several months, it is well worth the money. This is the only throttle-locking-device I have used that has worked as advertised. I have also added Oxford heated grips to my bike and the wires do not interfere with the ATLAS.
I’ve had scary situations with the Cramp Buster because it protrudes from the middle of the grip. With the ATLAS I can close the throttle with my hand on the grip in position to properly control the bike. I have also tried the Vista-Cruise universal throttle lock, Throttlemeister "bar-end" throttle lock and the Omni-Cruise throttle locks. With the exception of the Vista-Cruise, none of them where as simple to use and none of them ever held the throttle long enough for me to relax my hand on long trips.

Setup

Clamp arm: Small Clamp arm

Channel: 1st Channel

Friction Pad: Large Friction Pad

Explanation of Install

The newer throttle housings KTM is using on their 690, 990 and 1190 models, have a bevel which needs to be cleared. Use the small clamp arm with the first channel to clamp the ATLAS to the plastic throttle sleeve.

Use the thickest friction pad provided and place it on the stopper exactly as shown in the image. You must place it 0.03" down from the top edge of the stopper. As a reference, use the thinnest friction pad to measure. The thinnest friction pad is 0.03" thick.

Interference Issue Solution 1

The ATLAS does work with the 1190/1290 factory heated grips. All you need to do is reposition your throttle housing on your handlebars. By rotating your throttle housing clockwise (viewing from the bar end) the ATLAS will mount just below the plastic heated grip wire.

Interference Issue Solution 2

Take a razor blade and cut away the hard plastic that encases the heated grip wire. Now the heated grip wire can bend around the ATLAS.
